9to5 Police Officer (Ret.) Base Illinois Team OP/4 |
Ron Baez is a 31 year veteran of the Chicago Police Dept. and is also a 10 year veteran with the U. S. Army. His first experience with paintball occurred in the early 1980s as one of the training tools utilized by the Army in infantry school. Ron and his son-in-law, Enrique Perez, founded the N.P.P.O. in 2005 after meeting the year prior through a mutual friend who invited them to a paintball event, reintroducing paintball to Ron. Originally starting the N.P.P.O. to introduce paintball to LEOs as a alternative recreational sport to assist in releasing the various stresses associated with job as well as to reduce the rising suicide rate among law enforcement, it eventually grew into an organization that provides our Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana 1st Responders and communities bi-weekly paintball games, hosts private parties, annual tournaments, sells new and used tactical and survival gear, provides tactical and defensive training and attends big games at local paintball parks. With his experience in law enforcement and his passion for the community, he and the N.P.P.O. staff started an initiative called P.A.C.T (Police And Community Together). This initiative was created to be the tip of the spear to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
